Paceville, the island's loosest rule
In the main-street clubs, clothing is almost never a reason for refusal. You go in wearing shorts, a t-shirt and trainers, and in summer that is the norm because it is thirty degrees at midnight. What does stop you: flip-flops at some venues, bare chests everywhere, and anything that looks like a group that is visibly too far gone, which has nothing to do with clothes.
Rooftops and upmarket clubs
This is where it tightens. TwentyTwo, on the twenty-second floor of the Portomaso Tower, runs a smart dress code and says so: no shorts, no flip-flops, no caps. The other rooftops are looser but still above Paceville's bar. The practical rule: if the venue leads its marketing with the view, dress for it.
Pool parties, the special case
You turn up in swimwear, obviously, but you need something to leave in. Plenty of groups run a sunset pool party into a club at midnight, and arriving at a club door in swimwear works nowhere. A shirt, dry shorts and closed shoes in the bag solve it and save a round trip to the apartment.
Casinos, the strictest
Smart casual, enforced, and the only place on the island where a pair of flip-flops gets you turned away. No shorts, no swimwear, no caps: shirt or polo and closed shoes. The Dragonara is the most rigorous of the four. Worth knowing when you run a beach day into a casino stop in the early evening.
Themed nights
A White Party means white, and the code is genuinely followed: turning up in colour means missing what you came for. Same logic for any night with an announced dress code. These are not safety rules, they are rules of the game, and they make part of the atmosphere. Sort the outfit before you travel: white is not easy to find in Paceville on a Tuesday afternoon.
What matters more than clothes
Age and ID. Paceville clubs admit from seventeen, but casinos require eighteen and check every time. And visible drunkenness gets people turned away far more often than a pair of trainers. A calm, coherent group gets in anywhere, whatever it is wearing.
