Kala, early June at Dhermi
This is the event that put the Albanian Riviera on the electronic music map. Kala runs on Dhermi beach from 3 to 10 June 2026, with a capacity of around three thousand. It sells out months ahead and it drains accommodation along the whole coast for its week. If Kala is the goal, the ticket and the bed are booked together, not one after the other.
The rest of the summer
South Outdoor Festival takes place at Borsh in late June and mixes sport with music, in a very different format from Kala. Mjalt'Fest, in early July at Dhermi, is built around honey and local food. The Himara Music Festival occupies the summer further north. The offer is thinner than in Croatia or Greece, but it is being built, and that is exactly the moment when prices are still low.
What nobody tells you about logistics
Dhermi is two and a half to three hours' drive from Saranda, on a mountain road. During a festival week taxi fares double, campsites fill, and rentals are negotiated by the full week rather than the night. Coming for a festival and expecting to slot in nights out in Saranda makes no sense: pick a base and stay with it. That is the main first-timer mistake.
When the dates are not yet certain
Not every edition returns each year. ION, long the September fixture at Dhermi, did not run in 2025 and is unconfirmed for 2026. That is normal for a scene this young, and it imposes a simple rule: check the date on the festival's own channel before booking a flight, never on a blog article, this one included.
